Myself Completed

Myself Completed

A Poem by maktub
"

Completion. Future. Love. Two become one and unite those words together.

"

I am reaching for our future,
I am clinging to my past,
craving distinct moments that last.

From the deep wells of my mind,
drawing forth and drinking of
turbulent, chastising thoughts of love.

Still, my thirst remains unquenched;
languishing in this unfilled need,
enchanting, yet anguished yearning I bleed.

My soul desires his possession;
arms his embrace, eyes his perfect form;
ears his voice, me swept away by his storm.

Together my fingers rapturously relish
the glorious sense of experiencing him,
swayed and swirled, dwelling at his whims.

I am a mere sliver; he is entirety.
Boundary protecting my innocent wealth,
but also shielding me from myself.

Is this one not my "better half"?
No, but the engulfment of all shattered bits;
all dancing, twirling, tilting fragments.

He is for me, and thus against;
provoking, plucking each heart string;
Lovers combined, wooed and wooer uniting.

Wrote this after 'Love'. More creations from my mind...the way I thought it should be (still do - what can I say, I am a romantic), not the way I knew it was (I'd yet to really experience that...come on I was like...13-14yrs old when I wrote this...I hadn't experience anything beyond unrequited infatuations). But that's the way I want it to be with my man - it'll take work, but...reading that...looking forward and looking back...the rewards are worth the effort.
Suggestions, opinions, regarding the piece?

Things happen for a reason, and regardless of what that reason is, those things are not always good, but nor are they always bad...and oftentimes the unanswered prayers are the greatest blessings, and.. more..
