White Dwarf

White Dwarf

A Poem by M. A. Kilcorse
"

The universe is rich with beauty and mystery. A stage set for the greatest show ever to be played.

"

A yellow sun,

Not unlike our own

Expends its energy

For a stellar show.

An angry red giant,

That overtakes its surroundings,

While radiant pressure-

Sends its outer shell flying.

A pearl contained within a floating sea;

A kaleidoscope of elements finally free.

Tendrils of gas that twist and turn

A veil over dim light- with passion that still burns.

The ocean of particles slowly degrade

Leaving a diamond; alone in dark space.

Trillions of years may pass along,

Obscuring this beauty behind the mask of the cosmos.

I use writing not just as an escape, but as a construct. To see non-physical ideas take life in the form of places and people is the magic and mystery of creative writing. more..
