The Worst Feeling

The Worst Feeling

A Poem by mako1030
"

Just a little poem about social anxiety

"

The worst feeling in the world is knowing you and your friend are drifting apart,

And there is nothing you can do to stop it,

So you just have to sit and watch your friendship slowly fade away

And try to enjoy what time you have left together.

The worst feeling in the world is feeling like you are fading out of site,

Because with every day you become more translucent,

And maybe if only they could see you they would reach out to you,

But they can’t anymore, and now you just sit and watch the world go by without you.

The worst feeling in the world is having a loud mind and a quiet mouth,

Because you have so many things that you want to say,

But your mouth doesn’t want to say them,

So you sit in silence, drowning in unsaid thoughts.

The worst feeling in the world is having social anxiety,

Because you want so desperately to talk to someone, to have friends,

But you’re so afraid to say anything, to be friendly to anyone,

So you stay quiet, and you stay alone.

The worst feeling in the world is needing to vent to someone, but can’t,

Because you know they don’t care, they won’t listen,

And you don’t want to be ignored for something you said,

So you sit ignored because you said nothing.

The worst feeling in the world is being me.

I am new to writing novels, and am currently working on my first one. I have lots of good ideas for stories, but I'm not the best at putting them to pen and paper unless they are short stories. more..
