Sad poem about friends drifting apart

"
Isn't it sad how quickly friends drift apart?
You go from talking until 2:00 a.m.
to talking for two hours a day,
to talking two times a day,
to talking two minutes a day,
to never talking again.

There's no heartfelt goodbyes,
no words to break it off.
One of you just stops trying,
stops replying,
stops caring.

And then you send your last message
and you never talk again.
It's not the end of a story.
It's a story that didn't have an ending,
and never will.

About
I am new to writing novels, and am currently working on my first one. I have lots of good ideas for stories, but I'm not the best at putting them to pen and paper unless they are short stories. more..
