What did I do mom?

What did I do mom?

A Poem by Makayla Calvert

The motherly connection is never there.

I sit there and stare.

Into an empty void.

As you spill more noise at me.

I want to scream.

But I sit there as my eyes begin to stream.

Harsh words flow from the mouth.

As I sit there on the couch trying to process.

It’s all just noise to me now.

As I fall asleep my heart loses another piece.

You never cease.

I cry to the Lord to give me strength.

We all push through another day.

It’s all just noise to me now.

You are just noise to me now.
