Snow

Snow

A Poem by Crysta K Coburn

"I don't want to hurt you."
You just don't realize
that it's too late for that.
Pain is like snow.
It blows, it gathers
and it melts.
It soaks into the soil
to become Spring.
It's wild, and random,
and only briefly held off
by Summer.
It's been a while, but
now when I look outside I see
it's snowing again.

It always seems like those who don't wish to cause us pain always hurt us the most. The sad thing is that they never seem to realize it until afterwards. Your snow simile works wonderfully, I can see how the pain could be the cold, unfeeling snow that comes down. I enjoyed reading this piece and I hope you keep writing.
