Dark Side of the MoonA Poem by maiismMy very first poem, can you figure out what I'm talking about?
The Dark Side of the Moon
Walls of steel line my path And in vast gaps I see my soul This place and I are tools of wrath And in this space darkness unfolds All my life I struck As a soldier of lightning and sky Beneath my feet I crushed Worlds that saw through our lies Marching with my brothers Identical in soul and desire We swept through the stars and smothered Those who would oppose our empire All my life I served without question Enforcing my master’s will of oppression But now I have a confession Of regret I regret my whole life I regret the slaughter, the destruction, the meaningless strife And now, as I walk the halls of this prison I hear the battle raging And I know my time has come A new hope has risen Our tyranny is breaking And with our death, comes freedom It started far below A distant orange glow And I knew it was the fires of hell Coming to reclaim her own The fire began to swell And seared through my bones Here is my grave Here I die, on the dark side Of the moon © 2010 maiism |
