Life Sometimes and Life to Some
A Poem by amomentforus
It was a staircase to heaven. A never ending climb upwards, against gravity, against most odds and without promise of ever reaching the top. It was good though, right? Trudging with our heads down, lungs burning. Our knees wobbled at first but then they got too weak to even warrant that extra expenditure of energy. They never tell you Tired gives stability. Easier to keep plowing forward than trying to fall asleep. One might be futile and one might be constant and neither reward in the end, leaving no surprises. This wasn’t even supposed to be hopeless. Faith dragging us forward. An unrelenting pull by the wrist or at the heartstrings, hoping they snap and release us. Tumbling down that staircase, may we hit our heads before it breaks our backs.
