flower.

flower.

A Poem by Rae

I opened up a book

for you but

that’s not what you bellow

and i breathe in

the fabric of

the sweatshirt of the

places you’ve been and

I feel my skin but it is like

feeling the entire ocean

on my face and

i wanted something for dinner

but you only eat on tuesdays.

I took a bath because

you dimmed me out

like that star

we could barely see

at your mother’s

and i want to

marry that flower

I can see in the grass.

(am i alive or

did you kill me?).

Am I alive or did you kill me? That was intense, though a flower holds the heart, what of a flower that grows under ground? a buried love?
