Anxiety SeriesA Poem by Rae
I thought I saw your shadow today.
It was elsewhere. Your shadow was a moth, flying upwards past my city window. Your shadow turned to face my discovery, and looked down to see if I might be able to follow. I stayed in my bed with a pencil. I never stopped looking up, but the shift of the sunlight faded you into the sky. Black, grey, and back to light.
