New Love

New Love

A Poem by Sonal Choudhary
"

This is just my first poem on this website and I wish to find out how it comes along. Just going with the first two words that came to my mind.

"
Every love, one and all,
Some too big, others too small;
Have in common, one darn thing,
Turns me a beggar, or makes me a king.
Love is disputed, people have views,
So me having one, should not be a news.

I am in love, says a familiar sting,
But dealing with it, is not my thing;
I usually bust up, in very grand ways,
Act weird through the nights, and sulk through the days;

What is love, my nerdy self asks,
Is it postponable? like all other tasks;
Can I rid myself, of this illogical feeling,
With which I am continuously, and subconsciously dealing;

NO is the answer, I unfortunately find,
How I wish, I could trick my mind;
A strange silly feeling, has kept me blinking,
And has numbed by beloved, intellectual thinking;

I have now given up, battling this demon;
A safe neutral path, am I trying to reckon;
Help me O Lord, in this challenge of mine,
At least light up a joint, and pass me a wine.

i like how your lines connect and the whole thing flows nicely. your rhyme scheme makes it fun to read and it sounds very good.
the beginning and the end were my favorite bits. the last two lines are just perfect.
