MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY JOYA Poem by MAH MEKOLLEThis poem is dedicated to my husband, the love we have shared for many years since we were teenagers, & how love always brought us back together, a simple rough account of our journey in love and life
My Life, My Love, My Joy
Joy. Joy increased in my life when you showed up yet again. Way back when we were young, what, 14, 16? barely teenagers, you said I was magic, I believed it, but distance and time came in the way. Then we met again, a couple of years later, this time we established a bond, a connection that would last a lifetime. Silly teenagers, romantic hearts, star-crossed lovers I remember in the university, when you will come to my little studio, the year was 1998, we listened to love songs all day and some nights, hahaha, the memories of young love, growing, budding when we danced, it was magic, and then, that first kiss, the brush of lips, I knew then, like you, I was hooked, but then, I moved distance again, oh dear distance. I moved, left for another place, another life....for another Time passed by, you lived a different life, I lived one too You traveled across the oceans, disappeared Years passed, but we never forgot each other I guess we were always meant to be Many years later, I came across the oceans too, like star-crossed loves, we reconnected again, this time never to be parted again You thought again I was magic again, your one true love, the one you were fated to marry, and so we did, yea! Under that moon, you proposed and I said yes. Here we are, two sons later, trials and tribulations, highs, lows we are still together. You said your heart belonged to me, I say mine has always been yours Now I know, there is no mountain too high, no darkness too dark that can separate us from the love we have for each other. © 2012 MAH MEKOLLEAuthor's Note
