BLURRED BUT CLEARA Poem by Maheep Singh RathoreA person standing besides a lake observes the lake and the things that happen to it. At the end he relates the lake to "life" BLURRED BUT CLEAR
Standing
beside you, ignorant I tried to
perceive you You hugged
the sun, you hugged the moon Inside
yourself you fostered the dew
You turned
the lights to flames That would
not destroy anything Shimmered
the effigy of the warrior Long beside
you, standing
They come,
talk to you and go Sometimes
happy sometimes low You heed
everyone; be it your foe
When you
ride the breeze There is no
face left frowned They get
attached to you But you are
still unbound The things
at the top seem so far Out of the
way, so distant But you show
everything without a scar In your lap,
so imminent
You put on
different shades And make me
think of life You love the
dawn, you love the dusk Even the brightest
noon you don’t strife
You have
witnessed the first meetings You have
sighted the last departures But in your
roll they reside With all
that life captures
Standing
beside you, ignorant I tried to
perceive you Not knowing
me much but mere When I
looked at you I found
myself BLURRED BUT CLEAR
