Demons

Demons

A Poem by maharrison

And those are the demons that should be feared;
The ones that run at night without boundaries
The demons that creep into dreams and chase us through nightmares
The ones with thirsty hearts, gulping down one's spirit.
They ought to be controlled, yet we don't dare.
And in those demons, there are beasts and monsters;
Beast and monsters who steal girls that wander alone.
How we durst to grow up in the world, where out souls are stolen;
Stolen by the one's with not a fraction of emotion.
Maybe under all those lies, those beasts are children;
Children looking for answers, but in all the wrong ways.
They're delicate souls, fearful of the harsh society,
So they've decided to run away, to take on an extreme disguise.
Transforming from pretty faces, to the source of all lies.
Maybe one day, only demons will exist
Souls go into hiding, afraid to be found
Spirits roam around freely, not to be seen;
Like ghosts in the attic, heard of, but no proof of existence
