Prairie Night

Prairie Night

A Poem by Angel Dubois
"

an October night at 2 am in the morning in a small town somewhere in Southern Manitoba. I couldn't sleep so I went to stand outside.

"
Dark blue velvet night
New Moon
Chilly stars shivering in the sky
Frosty points of light
Wind blowing coldly
Running its frozen finger through the trees
A dry Raspy sound
Of wooden bones

Coyotes howl
in the darkness, spine tingling.
Burst of sound
so close
Lonely, crying, hunting
Predators.
Masters of the night
A prairie night.

This gave me chills, the metaphor so clean and poignant. I believe writers are capable of seeing beauty in everything, or at least seeing importance. Really enjoyed this.
