TranscendenceA Poem by Chad CasaresA poem written in 2009 describing a near-death experience. The sun of my enlightenment takes the East sky, And the West far behind me lays barren and dry. In the light do I stand overflowing with peace. And slow, my awareness starts to increase.
I am taken aback at the sight of such wonder As the storms of the West rumble, rainless, with thunder. What rages behind me strikes no fear at all, As the future glides by me, visions both vast and small.
Trancelike my state as I drift for the sun And my mind of new consciousness knows that we're one. Etheric cathedrals of crystal illumine, And I know, at long last, there's much more to the human.
The song of the spheres floats across the expanse, While the luminous public beckons to dance. I've transcended Earth and the fabric of time, To reach for Nirvana and emotion sublime. © 2009 Chad Casares |
