Stars

It’s written in the stars they say

So that evening when i paused and looked up to the sky

And asked for everything to work out

Losing something i thought i had was part of it?

 

So why then do i miss what i had

Wish i had it back sometimes

Because surly if this was meant to happen

 i should be glad it’s gone?

For then everything is for the best

 

So why does it feel so wrong

Being so apart

Even if i secretly dread that i know others don’t feel the same

As it seems to of worked out just fine for them.

 

But then there is the question

Of what i saw in them beautiful eyes

The very ones i used to get lost in

I saw something very differently to what was happening

I saw what i was hoping

 

Alas since then words have not been spoken

And i am to shy to ask

To afraid of the answer

Which begs the question

Did i only see what i wanted to see
