Spark

Spark

A Poem by magicwhisper

You thought it was a light

But in reality it was a mere spark

For once it has gone

And its glow begins to fade

It’s then the darkness has returned

And you start to miss the spark, you crave it

It doesn’t come back

And you have to stumble on in the darkness

Knowing you shouldn’t need the spark

Because you have managed so long without one

Whilst hating yourself for missing it

As you realise it wasn’t meant to stay

So don’t relay on sparks

Instead you have to find your own light

One you can keep

Because however much anyone tries

No one can take that spark off you

Only you can put it out
