![]() HopeA Story by magicwhisperAnd as they touched, the electricity flew between them, but just as they finally felt at peace the lightning struck and the pair flew apart, each landing on opposite sides of the path. She looked up dazed and saw him lying on the ground in pain. She went to get up to see if he was still alive when he turned his back on her. She scrambled forward trying not to notice the pain as she crawled. She sat beside him and gently reached out her hand to touch him. He felt her presence beside him and flinched before scrambling away. She pulled her hand away and stared at the creature who just moments ago felt a connection with and realised just like her he was afraid, but unlike him she was willing to concur her fear of love and its powers, that she will try to ignore the pain set deep within her heart and which has been etched deep within her soul, if it meant being with him. She looked at this creature curled away from her and tried to understand his pain, but it dawned on her how high his barriers were, how this fairy will not give anything away. She looked to the stars with tears streaming down her face for answers. The stars then twinkled and whispered there reply, and it was then she gained a new hope a hope she will not let go of, a hope the stars had sent her. "All good things come to those who wait" and then she realised this creature needed time. She grabbed onto the hope that this fairy will share his soul with her one day. she lay on the muddy floor and realised how special this fairy is. That she doesn’t want to lose this amazing fairy, for she can see things in him that he can’t see in himself. It was something this fairy hoped he could see in her also for she can only see how damaged and ugly she was. She looked at the stars once more and prayed that the stars were right, that she was right. She lay there and prayed that this fairy would soon ask once again if they can touch, if the electricity could spark once again as the electricity to her never left. But that wasn’t all that she prayed for. No this broken, lost fairy prayed that he would allow her to see his soul so then she may be able to understand and maybe just maybe she could help fix it. She prayed this fairy would give her his heart for she would look after it, protect it, for she longed to give him hers. She doesn’t know but she hopes this creature would let her get close to him. So she lay in the mud with her dainty arm stretched, reaching for him and hoping he will reach out soon before cupid strikes again at him, before she loses this precious fairy. She felt a deep pain which she realised was a new fear, a fear of losing him. She hoped he didn’t leave her alone. But she was willing to take the risk. She longed to ask but didn’t in the fear of him running away. It was then she realised all she could do was wait, and wait was exactly the thing she was going to do because even if she wanted to do so she could not leave this fairy, not after watching this fairy from afar before he even realised she existed. So she just lay there in the mud, with her heart beating strong, strong for him, hoping this fairy would turn to face her and share the reasons he turned away . hoping this fairy would share his heart. © 2010 magicwhisper |
