One Simple Job

One Simple Job

A Poem by Megan Ryan
"

Sometimes in a relationship a spouse fails to do the most simplest job to help his love out when she's feeling not her best.

"
You had one job
A simple task
I ask you nicely
To do for me.

Yet your such a klutz
You just screwed it up
It was so simple
You find it complicated.

Distracted or forgot
Your so simple minded
To lose track of time
Forgot what was important.

Can't you do right
Why go off track
You let me down
When I need you most.

When I'm feeling not my best
Ill-stricken to my bed
Aches and pains all over
I count on you to help.

Can't you listen
Don't you see
Do I matter
To you at all?

Off on your own
Doing your things
Makes me feel neglected
When your not listening.

Don't you care how I feel
Can't comfort me for an hour
When I'm feeling down
You just brush it aside.

All I ask of you
One simple ting
Do me one favor
To help me out.

Yet you can't do right
Are you not bright
Can't seem to see
Just one thing
One simple job.
