Look Behind the Facade

Look Behind the Facade

A Poem by And She Sings
"

My girl loves to dress up and I wish she could see her beauty when she's wearing sweats and a t-shirt

"
if i could give her
the world she always wanted

she would awaken
a different character
every single day

her closet would be
filled to the brim
with all sorts of
facades and masquerades

i would fill her drawers
with face paints and masks
and horns and wings
and halos and fangs
so she could pretend

and at the end of the day
she would come to the door
and i would strip her
of all of her layers
of all of her lies
of all of her guardian props
and lie with her and hold her
and kiss her bare skin gently
and tell her how beautiful she was
when she was purely herself

Author's Note

And She Sings
I randomly thought of this just now. It's about midnight, so anything weird is due to sleep deprivation.
