LovelyA Poem by And She SingsI fell in love with my straight best friend. This is how it felt.
Where is that pesky line?
The one that faded the day I looked In your eyes and saw, Not a friend, But my future. The fateful day came and went, But I had been changed. It was like grappling for solid ground In a desert full of only sand. I couldn't hold onto you. I thought, "Wait for tomorrow, And it could go away," But who was I kidding When I had fallen off the edge? It was like a drug. My highs were unstoppable. I was invincible. My lows were like I had swallowed a rock. It sat in my stomach and weighed my whole body down down down. Could you blame me for the scars? Could you blame me for wanting them to be deeper? Every Single Time? Could you blame me for wishing that I would get hit by a car? Just so the pain would be less? I don't think so. She doesn't either.
