Watching the clockA Poem by magenta24ukwanting to be homeWatching the clock I sit and watch the minute hand, so slowly moving on. I wish that it would hurry up, why does it take so long. The bell will chime at 3 o’clock and finally I’ll be free. Homeward bound I’ll run and jump, no one catches me. In I’ll skip and wait for dad to come home in a while, When he does we’ll talk of school and it always makes him smile. For when I say I watch the clock, dad laughs and hug’s me near. “I’m watching too” he says with a grin “because I’d much rather be right here”. © 2014 magenta24uk
