deep leavesA Poem by magenta24ukDeep leaves The autumn leaves fall softly past my weary eyes as if to say we’re crying too. I feel the breath of frost as I open up the window and know the wind is sighing for you. The days are darker like my heart since you left me all alone I have no way of ever saying I am sorry, no way I can atone. You left me here in this cold place with weeping trees of yellow and red. You left me here with thoughts unbroken and words I wish I had said. Rain begins to fall and I stretch out a hand to feel. Knowing that it may be the only thing in my life that‘s real. Grey clouds descend and shape my mood as sunlight shifts away. Your hand in mine is all I need to face another day. © 2014 magenta24uk |
