the man of nightA Poem by magenta24ukWritten for a contestMan of night One upon a midnight dreary while I pondered weak and weary I came across a man of night shadow blocking out the light Full of woe he turned to me his eyes so black he could not see I tried to turn away in fear but darkness pulled my heart in near He raised his arms my mind was numbing his vile blackness overcoming I fell into his cold embrace my heart and head began to race My eyes grew dim my light erased I became a broken soul encased Slow I wandered into the night to seek another’s tempting light. © 2014 magenta24uk |
