Writer's Block

Writer's Block

A Poem by Maddy

It was a grand idea

I was ready to write a novel

I had the title

Got through the first 2 chapters

Things were going great

Up until the thoughts stopped coming

I have writer's block

Now I can't think

Just have to breathe

Step back and re evaluate

Maybe I have to walk away

But this story isn't over yet.

The leading male tall and gorgeous

The leading lady young and pretty

Ready to fall in love

But the communication lines got severed

Now my heart is controlling my mind

There's tears on the pages where there should be ink

I have writer's block

Now I can't think

Just have to breathe

Step back and re evaluate

Maybe I have to walk away

But this story isn't over yet.

I'm trying too hard

Nothing comes to mind but an old tale

One I wrote before

It comes to mind and I fantasize

It was always easy

It was always there

I had writer's block

Now I'm starting to think too much

It's getting harder to breathe

Can't step back with my back against a wall

I tried to walk away

But this story isn't over yet.

Now my two tales are mixing

This never has a happy ending

Summer loving and winter wonderlands

Never meant to meet

Now they're so close

Both so close to me

My writer's block is gone

But my thoughts are tainted

They stole the air from my lungs

Stuck in between them

I can't walk away

This story is far from over

but I don't know which one to choose.
