Toe RingA Poem by Madeline
I love you.
See how the sunflower leans To the sun that emanates warmth, Nurturing rays. Your love is unfathomable, I cannot wholly emulate. Your hands are rough and strong From the home you have built. Your feet sunburned, toasted reddish brown beautiful With the glimmer of gold from your Toe ring. I thank God for choosing me When planning for you. Your altruism shakes my heart awake, It too often nods off. Look at my hands, Grievously smooth, naive. Look at my feet, A toe ring flashes gold, hopeful.
