Infatuation

Infatuation

A Poem by Madeline

Falling in love is sweet,
Cherry blossoms and tied-bow neat.
Zealous hands that meet with purpose...
To complete the round of applause
For these two lovers, the charitable cause.

But falling in infatuation is tart,
Tangy passion with electric heart.
The good, the bad,
I'll have it all
For the lingering eyes and silent call
Of luscious hi's and promising goodbyes

Deliciously bizarre, invulnerable to law
So raw, this sensation of infatuation...

I think this is pretty ingenious, your rhyme doesn't seem at all forced, and even the lines that have no rhyme are not out of place.

I especially liked how the poem is about being content with infatuation, though. Every second of eye contact is one of bliss, every hug brings you closer to ecstasy (for lack of a better word). Thanks for sharing :)

I think you captured love very well here. Love should be passionate, loyal, respectful. But humans aren't perfect. We carry flaws and burdens, and those things might to have be accepted to a loving partner. But can accepting their flaws could be too high? I'd say no, but there are some things that can. Anway, great write.
