Her Hair Tie

Her Hair Tie

A Poem by Madelin

It laid there

so innocently

Watch as his lips touch mine

It did not say a word

Oh, how I wished it had warned me

It laid there so still and scared

Watched as for the first time I laid naked next to a man

Feeling his weight on top of mine

My mind flowing in and out of conciseness

Maybe if it knew what was going on

It would’ve warned me

But it didn’t

Her hair tie just laid there

On his bed

Under our sweaty and tired bodies

It just f*****g laid there

My mind reentered my body

As he withdrew his from mine

And I saw it

Just laying there

Scared

Still

But no longer innocent.
