The Essence of Spring

The Essence of Spring

A Poem by Madeleine Grace

The trees would sway,

as the suns'  bright rays,

would shine upon the earth

To light up the sky,

that sparkled your eyes,

you never saw something so beautiful

You feel the warmth upon your skin,

to linger on; to feel within,

as you touch the torching ground

You tilt your head up,

as the sky corrupts,

with dark and dusty clouds

The clouds start to wrinkle,

the rain starts to sprinkle.

as you feel the ground start to shake

You are being swallowed by the earth,

like such a new birth,

that has been handed to you

you are now in the Essence of Spring,

yes, it's the real thing.

you are now a new person.

I reread this one and it is still my favorite of your poems. The second last stanza has to be my favorite, stressing how spring is a time for new beginnings. Such beautiful imagery...

thankyou collette :)

I like it a lot. The way it flows kept me hooked and the words you used made it rhyme without making it seem like that was your only motive.
Keep it up :)

I love to write. I have always felt that writing is something I have always been good at. It's a way to express my feelings, with a story behind it that sometimes people don't need to understand. It's.. more..
