Monster of Winter

Monster of Winter

A Poem by To be scene To be heard

Blinded by darkness.

Forever a banded by the light.

Nature was all I had.

Breathing life into my body.

Touching the soft black soil.

Feeling the sun warm my skin.

But all too soon it turned dead.

A coldness covers the land.

ICE REPLACES MY BONES.

Snapping with every stride.

What monster has taken hold of me?

This shall be the monster of winter.

Ah perspective. What a strange thing. I saw Opposum's idea of how your poem represents your yearn for summer, and contrastingly Coyote Poetry's comment of how winter can just be unlikeable. Honestly, I agree with both. Your poem seems to speak nostalgically about winter and the changes in the world as it approaches, and about the unpleasantness associated with winter. Wonderfully inspiring piece. Thank you.

Winter can make us feel cold and locked in. Winter does slow us down and allow us to think. Your poem brought back the cold days of Winter. A outstanding poem.
