Invisible to You

Invisible to You

A Poem by Madison E O'Hara

Unrequited love

Invisible to You

If the sky turned red would I notice?

If rain became smoke would I care?

If the sun iced over would it bother me?

            Yes.

Unless I was with you.

You turn the world off. When you’re here all I see is you. All I care about is you.

But you don’t see me at all. You don’t get lost in my eyes like I do yours. And you don’t light up when I walk in the room.

You would notice the sky.

You would see the rain.

You would feel the sun.

            Even when you’re with me.

I loved the imagery ...two halves of one love.one hot and one cold. You are not alone. I've experienced it as well and well...it sucks. But it makes for some fantastic poetry. I like that when I'm reading your work it flows like an afternoon breeze at a park. Does that sound weird? It flows well,it doesn't feel forced,it feels real and allows your readers to relax and take it all in.the good and the bad feelings alike. You've got a fan in me. Keep at it.

Honest and direct words. I believe better with another to appreciate the rising sun, to feel a Summer rain upon our face. Thank you Madison for sharing the excellent poetry.
