if love were to readA Poem by maddy"if love were to read is actually a letter that i am writing to love. in the poem, i am directly speaking to love but i also use it as a noun to directly show the audience my emotion and frustration.i have a question for you, why do you do what you do? how, do you do what you do? do you find your satisfaction within the rejection after the obsession? or is it the low-key head over heel's fall that made each other's heart's our possession? they say there aren't words that give clarity in love but, they say you look like something. that love looks like something. i feel like i am the only one who fell. is it possible love was at the center but i took more of it? is the sum at the end now my fulfillment deposited? it makes me feel sick. love. it is dangerous. but what even is it? what are you? how do two people start as strangers, connect, and eventually end in danger? it's vaporous, isn't it? yet it's what makes the world revolve, right? i guess if it is, it's nothing more than an out of reach satellite. it's real, i am not denying your existence. love hurts every time, yet i see it bring joy just how can you be so inconsistent? maybe people want love but they are too scared of it. maybe people want love, but they continue to recommit for a counterfeit. every day, people find love, sometimes it doesn't workout. you shift cultures, you change lives. sometimes you walk in holding roses, but sometimes i've seen you walk out with a knife. here's to love x
