My Love

My Love

A Poem by Madison Warman

A smile on your face,
but pain in your eyes.
It's one type of thing
that you can not disguise.
I want to hold you
close to my heart.
But as the day passes,
we're drifting apart.
Please, don't leave me!
Don't ever let me go!
There's still one thing
that I want you to know.
When I scream that I hate you,
my love can't break through.
It's blocked by the words
I never wanted to use.
When I push you away,
I need you much closer.
But my thoughts are all clouded,
my mind all distracted.
When I tell you it's over,
it's really just started.
My love is so strong,
It can't be departed.
Time's are getting harder
but please, stand by me.
You're the one thing in life
that I truly need.
Your smile is gorgeous,
it lights up a room.
Your eyes spark a fire
that burns in my heart.
Someone call the doctor
I just can't explain
why my head starts to hurt
and my stomach fills with pain
whenever you enter the room.
Maybe it's love,
but I wouldn't know.
Love is a feeling
I've never been shown...
So please, don't stop texting!
Don't ignore my calls!
When I tell you I hate you,
I don't mean it at all!
Maybe I'm just confused,
or scared, maybe both!
There's only one thing
that I really know.
And I can assure you
I know it for certain.
Even though I may not deserve it...
You're my one and only meant to be
Now I must ask,
Do you feel the same way about me?
