Chapter 23

"Get back quick." I text Jill. My heart starts to pump. Another knock

cracked my ears. I rushed to the kitchen. The knife, clutched in my hands, I put it

behind me. I headed towards the door. A harder bang.. I jumped. Walking towards the door,

I felt scared, but powerful. This was it. He found me.. He probably got Jill and Sadie too.

I'm done for. I unlocked the door, and quickly opened it. "PHEW." I gasped.

"What was that all about?" Jill asked. "Oh, nothing." I said. I went to the kitchen, and put the knife

back like it was already there. "Lock the door." I called to Jill. "Um, I already did!" Jill laughed. 

"Good." I replied.

What an embarrassment.. Edd should just show himself already. Get it over with.

Maybe I don't even wanna live. Just kill me.

Or maybe I do. Eli.

His name repeated in my mind, at least 100 times.

As shocked as I was, I stared into blank space thinking about tomorrow.

"Hey Eli(:" I text Eli.

"Hey Milly.. I was just thinking about you!" Eli replied a minute later.

HE OBVIOUSLY LOVES ME.

I watched the clock tick, 9:26pm. It was getting late... Plus I wanted to hang with Eli

tomorrow... I thought I should get to bed.. But I don't sleep when Eli texts me.

This is important. I am starting new, and he is my new inspiration.
