In One HandA Poem by Maddi Snowden
In one hand,
he holds his keys and in the other he holds my heart. He could so easily drop it and crush it with his heels and something tells me he will. In one hand, he holds a joint and with the other he has within his reach the key to making me his. He will never take the chance for fear of not getting the same high. In one hand, he holds his coffee and in the other he holds the key to making me smile. He will never hold my heart no matter how hard he tries to. In one hand, he holds a guitar pick and in the other he has a firm grasp on reality. He thinks of others before himself and won't ever let me in. In one hand, I hold the hearts of all these men and in the other I hold the key to my happiness. I think I will go with the latter. (M.S.)
