A Poem by Maddi Snowden

"Good things come to those
that wait"
is a phrase full of good intentions.

But in reality, it is a false
statement threaded with hope
that you will be handed what
you need.

Good things may come to
those who wait
but the best things
comes to those who
work towards them.

People aren't handed their dreams
and you are not
entitled to be given a passion
so it is up to you.

Discover it.

And when you do,
work until you are the best.

Work harder and harder until
your idols are your rivals.

Stay up with the moon, and converse
with the stars who are all
to familiar with crazy dreamers.

Take your good intentions
and turn them into
big dreams.

There is a universe of knowledge
out there and thousands more
waiting to be discovered.

Your dreams lay among galaxies,
go and get them.
