What do you do...

A sad poem based on my emotions.

What do you do when the one person that keeps you alive almost kills themselves?

First, you start to wonder what happened.

Why would they do this you think?

Then, you start to break down and cry.

You can run and hide but it will always be in your mind

After that you reflect and blame

You wonder if you could have stopped it or why they did it.

You blame yourself, their bullies, everyone you can think of

Then you pray they are okay

Even if you aren’t religious you find yourself praying and you can’t stop.

Finally, you realize they need you and you need them.

Admit it or not that is up to you but we both know it is true

It may never leave your mind again. If they didn’t try to say goodbye then they wouldn’t be alive.

You saved their life and they can hate you for the rest of it but at least they are alive.
