I hate

I hate

A Poem by Mackenzie Louise
"

this was an entree from my journal dated 10/28/14

"
I hate the shower in this house. The drain is clogged, so every time I go to cleanse myself, I leave still feeling dirty.
I hate my room and the way it's so small and stuffy and every time I lay down I toss and turn because I'm never actually comfortable.
I was told once that that's what life is, being uncomfortable and putting up with it because "that's how life goes."
I hate that no one is ever actually happy because we're constantly being fucked over and put down, but we still have to pretend like everything is okay.
I hate the way life goes.
I hate that I am so young and barely know half of the things about the world, but still know enough to hate it.
I hate that.

I speak from experience: there is genuine happiness in the world. It took a very long time, but I found happiness and have lived a life blessed with joys upon joys.

Hating the way things are now is your impetus to change them. You have all the power to do so. Trust yourself and be open to the opportunities that will come. Recognize, once you are an adult, you have all the power in your life; no one else has any power over your life that you do not give to them.
