A Poem by Mackenzie K.
"

sometimes i just write.

"

Clear borders of full lips on skin pale as porcelain

And twice as fragile

Blue veins visible through rice paper pulse points

Beat

Beat

Beating

With every pump of scarlet blood

Eyes caught between blue and green

A battle for territory on vivid irises

No matter how exhausted

Those eyes get

No matter how plum

The semicircles beneath

The blood pumps

The heart

Beat

Beat

Beating on.
