Why am I?

Why am I?

A Poem by Matt Sayer

We find ourselves through trial and error.
Identity is perpetually in flux; each day we meet ourselves anew.

How did I miss this one? I like brevity as it often leaves the reader with much to think about. I always held that we are "a blank slate upon which experience writes" but I have since learned from experience that our environment, who we associate with, our social upbringing etc all influence us along our "experiences" with those things and more. I'd like to think that every day we "evolve". Nice complexity to this, I like it :)

Thanks Renee! :)
How true, with pleasantly succinct ideas you describe what I take a load of moaning to express, a lovely piece to read and reflect upon.

Succinct and to the point. Not going to argue about the validity of the message this actually is in its own write, or it otherwise contains.. Smashing little work. N

There is much truth in that...and some days we don't even know who we are. Nicely done Matt.

Which is probably why life keeps on presenting us with challenges. It is to discover what we are made of and what we can become....

Great reflective write!
