Life Sadistic

Life Sadistic

A Poem by Matt Sayer

A heart burdened by the echoes of dying memories,

Of moments hung, drawn, and quartered by the fore-march of entropy,

Of treasures buried beneath Time’s sinister sands.

Forever searching, for-never finding,

The joys of the past leave empty graves.

Cloaked in misery, shrouded in regret,

The echoes build to a fatal crescendo.

Life begets death; death begets more death.

The circle of life? Ha! The circle is a spiral,

Descending towards but one end, one fate, one inescapable truth:

Only death springs eternal.

And your writing does the same to me :)You are welcome my friend.
Dark and flawlessly written, very eloquent and with absolutely no hiccups. I love your invention of 'for-never', probably my favourite couple of lines there, and the ending is brilliant. Well done :)

"Only death springs eternal" such a thought provoking line, I envy your eloquence, matt. All of your poems are so damn good! the last four lines really inspired me. Write on, man. I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.

Thank you!
Impeccable! I love it beginning to end; the choice of words is beautiful. It really highlights the essence of this piece. The theme is so matter of fact, and the honesty is so blunt it's almost comical. It's perfect. Bravo!
