A Party

A Party

A Chapter by Jasmine A. Mack

We left after a terse, awkward greeting with the boys. Why had Tasha invited them? Ugh.
It was my 16th birthday today. Tasha could've at least asked me if I would enjoy their company, which i wouldn't have.
When we got there, almost all the lights had been shut off and the house, which obviously belonged to some rebellious rich kid, smelt strongly of alcohol. I crinkled my nose at the pungent odor as we entered to house.
Tasha took Jason and Drake to the middle of the dance floor while I stood  unobtrusive in the corner next to the punch bowl.
I poured myself a glass and almost put it to my mouth, but then I remembered the scent wavering through the air and subtly set the cup down.
"Hey." I snapped around just in time to see the boy's eyes trailing back up to my face. He was staring at me, smiling as if I were here just for him, as his waved tawny hair spilled against his amused expression.
"I'm Tyler. Want to dance?"
I took a breath and smiled attempting to feign joy, and spoke. " Sure, I'd love to." I did honestly need to have a little fun. Man, Tasha was really starting to tap into my mental health.
I danced with Tyler for about an hour, being very careful not to let him get too close, until fatigue hit me. It was caused by extreme thirst so I walked off the dance floor with Tyler trailing behind me.
"You okay?" He said over the blasting music.
I shook my head. "I'm a bit thirsty."
Tyler nodded and came back with a fresh cup of punch. "Here you go."
I took the cup eagerly to my lips and chugged the refreshing liquid down.
I instantly felt the world spin around me in a euphoric twist. A wild grin spread across my face and I laughed. The world suddenly felt like a better place.
I grabbed Tyler's hand and led him back to dance. Letting my new, rash sense of mind kick in, I draped my arms over Tyler's neck. He smirked down at me and brought our bodies closer together.
~*~*~*~*~*~
I'm not sure how much time had passed but I can't imagine what I was doing on the dance floor five cups of punch later. I knew that it must have been pretty bad.
"I'm taking a break!" I yelled over the loud music and kissed him deeply before leaving the floor.
As I walked back to the punch bowl, a hand caught my waist and turned me around.
"Where do you think your going?" The handsome boy said as he looked down at me with a hungry gleam behind his light blue eyes.
I pointed at the punch bowl. "Ah," He said smoothly as he placed his other hand on my waist and pulled me closer.
Who was this guy? I had never met him before. Was he insane? Probably.
"Umm, who are you?" I asked nonchalantly while trying to squirm away from him.
His grip tightened. "The question is who are you?" He brought his smooth lips down on mine and kissed me roughly. I automatically put my arms around his neck and ran my fingers through his dark, silky hair. The kiss became more passionate as he slipped his tongue into my mouth and suddenly he wasn't there anymore. I opened my eyes and saw him on the ground with a bloody nose.
"She's mine Jace Haulking!" I had heard that name before during cheerleaders' conversations. He was the quarterback of the football team, go figure. The girls usually associated the words "hot" and "sexy" with his name. Had I really just been making out with "hot" and "sexy" quarterback, Jace Haulking?
I turned and saw the guy who punched sexy, hot Jace. It was Brian, some other guy that usually would never talk to a loser like me. Could this day get any weirder? Not to mention the world almost spinning behind a buzz of alcohol.
"Dude? What the hell?" Jace said as he wiped blood from his nose.
Brian smirked at me and I lifted an eyebrow. He turned his attention back to Jace. "She is mine. I want her. I have her. Do the math."
I crossed my arms and pouted. I was not a prize! Why was I saying this in my head? "I'm no one's prize!" I said as I sauntered over to Brain. He was cute. He had tousled dark red hair and deep brown eyes that reminded me of Willy Wonka's chocolate river.
"Oh yeah?" Brian said as he rapped his arms around me and held me close against his sculpted chest. Hmm, abs. He must work out.
Jale held a fire-like fury in his crystal blue eyes so strong I was afraid they might shatter. "I had her first."
Now they just sounded like two year olds. Damn, I wish I could just start making out with some guy and forget my problems. I really did like doing that. What on earth was happening to my mind? Did I just mind-cuss?
" Can you make up your minds already? I don't wanna just stand here and be fought over," I said as I fluttered my eyelashes.
Jace and Brian locked eyes and sighed. Then Jace approached me as Brian let go of me and turned me around before he stepped back.
"You choose," Brian said gently. I patted them both on the head while saying "Duck" and spun back to the dance floor leaving them there with their jaws dangling just above the ground.
"Hey Tyrone!" I said as I found my old dance partner who was looking around absent-mindedly.
He looked back at me. "Tyler." He said in a half annoyed tone.
"Do you care?" I said as I brought our lips together and kissed him fiercely in a frenzy. He pulled away for a quick breath after a while and whispered in my ear, "Not really."
He nibbled on my ear quickly before sinking back into the kiss. I let his tongue slip into my mouth and in return I let mine into his. As we explored each other's mouths, I felt his hands trail down to my barely concealed a*s. Was he going to far? I didn't know or care, I was in a bliss.
He broke away again and whispered in my ear. "SHould we take this somewhere else?"
BEEP! Little red flag! Little red flag! "Sorry, I've got to go."
A disappointed  look spread over his attractive face and I set off to find Tasha.
"Allie! There you are!" I turned around and saw Tasha. She looked over me abruptly and raised her eyebrows. "Girl, what have you been getting into?"
