Down the hallway...

Down the hallway...

A Story by Jasmine A. Mack

I held in a shriek as I turned another corner. Why had I come in here? In the movies, these situations never turn out well. I took another step and realized I was in a narrow, crooked hallway. As my foot tapped the wooden floor, a creek rang through the air and echoed loudly. I bit my lip so hard that I felt the hot liquid pour from the fresh gash, but that was the least of my problems. I squinted my eyes and tried to make out the approaching shape. It appeared to have pointed hands and a hunchback shaped body. A shiver ran down my back as I realized that it's "pointed" hands were indeed knifes, and they had blood on them. Well, I guess this was it. My heart pounded against my chest painfully. I closed my eyes as the creature approached me.
I awoke to the sound of my own scream. I was in my bed. A quick glance at the the clock told me it was 3 am. In my hand I was holding a horror book. Man, I should've read a comedy.
