The Tombstone Angel

The Tombstone Angel

A Poem by Macias
"

funeral

"
Faith steadily burns away
like fire set to paper.

Ashes are what's left to say
and brings memories with haze.

Loves true colors lightly fade
Into a hue of sadden gray.

Observation on what we've made
of a world we never cared to save.

Questions and blame tune to rise
intention pave a new way to hell.

Hope and heart have met demise
and religion forgives the selected.

Wings grown heavy with the rain
and the fog of chiseled names.

Tears of the woeful conspire pain
but never affect the tombstone angel.
