Destiny

Destiny

A Poem by Matthew Arevalo

Destiny? How does one know it?
Like a small fish in a river
(A river that flows to the sea)
(A hope to see just what might be)
Swimming aimlessly in water
Water he knows nothing about
(Destiny, may it flow to sea)
(From the rivers it came to free)
Aimless, he tries to find the end
End to a never-ending flow
(You who yields strength to destiny)
(Choose the course, the path, you will see)
He could not see, nor imagine
All he knows is simply to flow
(A life, practical and steady)
(Existing 'round walls of sturdy)
To never know of the blue sea
Destiny never meant to be
(A life, solving a mystery)
(Of dreams, passion, eternally)
