The Birds

Quiet blue, sunny snow. Peace on the bench with the dog. Two women. A low interaction and a clicking camera. Interest, common ground, let’s stick around for a while. Worry, questions. Hurried replies. Do you know I’m lying to you? Red Cardinal. Blue Jay. Sparrow, sparrow, sparrow. Click. My opportunity lost. Danger? Fading. Faking. A sudden call. The signal was lost. Comfortable silence. 5 minutes. Goodbye, two. Let’s meet again in Washington.
