My Fight

My Fight

A Poem by Chloe Yeoman
"

second version of My Fight

"
The End is near,
I feel it now,
Getting closer and closer with every step.
I meet my opponent-sword out-ready,
never accepting that he will end my life,
fighting to the last final knife,
waiting now for the moment to finish the deed.
Then it happens with one final act,
and it's over,
I cut his throat and watch him fall,
standing over him triumphant,
grateful,
and proud.
