Timber Puppies

Timber Puppies

A Poem by Rebecca

The forest merely watches.

Timber puppies tumble on Grim terrain,

and nature laughs at the scene.

Hunger is a language

that instinct understands.

The forest merely watches

as Lupa leaves the den in Loki’s care.

Yet, the mischievous pups scamper behind,

and nature laughs at the scene.

Silver vultures darken the sky

with tainted motives.

The forest merely watches.

Bipedal predators fulfill Eris command,

as the pups stumble heavily to garnet ground…

and nature laughs at the scene.

Lupa cries to Sirius for comfort,

as she warms her litters rigid frames--

and the forest merely watches,

and nature laughs at the scene.

This was my first attempt at a villanelle. What needs to be improved? Is anything too cliche? Can you understand what the poem is about? Etc.
