Within the Walls

Within the Walls

A Poem by Rebecca
"

It's about the true soul being hidden away among the defensive walls of the mind, initially for it's protection though obviously consequences come as they always do...

"

Behind these walls a secret lies,

Where the horrors of my past arise,

Where this past and present have intertwined,

To create this hollow life of mine.

What once  thought lost in here remains,

The things which cause me all this pain.

The darkness vast, concealing the proof,

Of a shattered soul and the shattered truth.

Within the silent shades of gray ,

Within these walls hidden away,

Shielded by shadows of tainted hue,

Is the true form that they never knew.

Scars of old upon that fragile form,

And bleeding wounds still freshly torn,

Tell a story of dismay

That my broken soul can no longer say.

But despite the emaciation and decay

From the loneliness endured each day,

It thirsts for vengeance, unfulfilled,

And from that thirst its strength is willed.

A warning here’s to be proclaimed,

For those seeking entrance to the minds domain,

That chaos beyond this border lies,

For no one can escape the eyes.

Author's Note

Rebecca
The last line may seem to know make sense. It's refering to the eyes being the window of the soul and because of how chaotic and messed up the mind and the soul are, if one is both brave and perceptive enough to see the hidden soul within, it's unlikley they'll be able to escape and quite likley they'll get tangled up in the chaos they've entered into.
